I was drawn to these watches as I used to be a coin collector, and this watch has a simple design that is not too flashy.<br /><br />PROs--I have had it less than a month but so far this watch keeps very accurate time; the dark metal hands show up well against the silver and white face of the coin and watch; the leather band fits well and comfortably, with no worries about paying a fee to have links removed from a metal band; the back looks as though it may come off easily so that I might replace the battery myself when the battery runs out--again, most places (when you can find a reliable clerk or store) charge over ten bucks for this usually simple procedure; it is simple to use the crown for its one purpose, to set the time. Classic design: very simple and American, though the face is on the verge of being too large. Neat, coin-like ridges on the sides.<br /><br />CONs--Time is the only feature this watch provides--but I do switch off with other watches for the sake of variety or for features like day/date and night-lighting; leather band is supple but seems a little thin, and after a couple of hours of gardening, I find the band is soaked with sweat--I just wonder how long the band will last. I will not wear this watch in the shower.<br /><br />On the whole I am very satisfied, though I am mystified about why the prices of these quarter watches have fluctuated so widely. It has presence. Pictures do not do it justice, with it's size and the way the gold and polished stainless steel shine contribute to a very impressive look. What I'm saying is - it's a great looking watch!<br /><br />My watch keeps very good time, loosing about 10 seconds a day. While I would prefer that it gain time, 10 seconds for an unregulated mechanical automatic at this price point is exceptional.<br /><br />The only problem I've had with it was very minor. The bracelet is held together by screws. Long narrow screws that have to be removed to size it. Several of the screws were loose. So when I sized it I removed all of the screws and applied a drop of Low Strength Loctite 222 to the threads and problem solved. If you don't size your own bracelets just have your jeweler check that the screws are tight. I suppose the bracelet could be longer. The links are small, but I only needed to remove two for a perfect fit. I have a medium frame, if you're a big burly guy it might be a good idea to try it on before removing any of the protective plastic so if there is a problem you can return it. But still, it should easily fit an eight inch wrist so I doubt many people need to worry about that.<br /><br />This in not only a great looking watch, it is a great looking watch that looks like it costs hundreds more that I paid for it and it works great. The watch looked great in the amazon.com website. I'm sure I would have been happy with a working product like the one whose picture was shown. But, I got, instead, a different watch whose only resemblance to the one shown was the brand and the wrist band. To add insult to injury, the watch sent was not working. When the vendor was contacted, there were neither apologies, nor offers to correct the situation. I know that this is not a review of the vendor, but I would hope that Amazon does more to demand more responsible business practices from vendors using its website.<br> <br /><strong>timezone failure</strong> - David C.
